    XPO Logistics is a top ten global logistics and transportation company with annual revenue of $15 billion and 89,000 employees, another 10,000 workers classified as independent contractors, and thousands more working for firms that subcontract with XPO. We are the REAL workers at XPO Logistics worldwide exposing the truth about the company’s global greed, illegal wage theft, unsafe conditions, and abhorrent and vicious anti-worker, anti-union tactics. 

    This greed includes mistreating former Con-way Freight workers in the United States who are being kept in the dark about terminal closures and layoffs, and the company’s illegal refusal to bargain contracts and denying their workers’ federally protected right to organize. It also includes port, rail and last-mile drivers around the country and in Southern California fighting wage theft in excess of $200 million because they are misclassified as independent contractors and denied the right to form their union. On Friday, March 15 at 3:56 p.m., Local 2086 members responded to a second alarm structure fire at 2172 S. Trenton Way. Crews arrived on scene to find flames coming out of the third floor balcony of building 2 in the Covington on Cherry Creek Apartments. Members began a transitional attack by fighting fire from the outside.

 Protect your home and family with smoke alarms Have working smoke alarms on every level of your home, outside bedrooms, at the top of open stairs and at the base of cellar stairs. Maintain smoke alarms. Test them once a month. If the alarm uses regular batteries, change them at least once a year. An easy way to remember is to change the batteries when you change your clocks.

At 11:56 on March 2nd, 2019, Norwalk Fire Professional Firefighters responded to a house fire at 34 Kossuth st. On arrival the three-story, three-family home had fire showing on the second and third floor.  All 10 occupants managed to get out in time. There were no reported injuries, However the house was gutted and is posted unfit for occupancy.

Passing of Our Brother

Our Brother Cody Mooney passed away on 3/2/19. Cody fought a long hard battle with a brain tumor that unfortunately took his life. Cody was so much.
